POSITION: Part-time, * hours per week
(additional hrs maybe available)
CONTRACT: Fixed term contract (subject to annual funding)

LOCATION: Leitrim: Hybrid working – mixture of in-person and remote
working currently

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To be committed to the ethos and mission statement of Lifestart
Supporting Parents Leitrim Sligo and West Cavan CLG.

* To explain, deliver and implement the Growing Child programme to
parents from New Communities within the home setting monthly/ more
frequent depending on need (to carry a caseload agreed with Assistant
Manager/Regional Manager)
* To gain a working knowledge and understanding of the Growing Child
& sessional materials and any suggested activity or equipment.
* To co-ordinate and facilitate the Lifestart Parent Education
Programme (the Growing Child) & other programmes in-home and in
groups.
* To liaise and work in partnership with relevant agencies at a
local level and regional level.
* Promote and raise the profile Lifestart Supporting Parents Leitrim
Sligo and West Cavan CLG.
* To gain and apply a working knowledge of the principles, values
and structures of Lifestart Supporting Parents.
* To adhere to the policies and procedures of the organisation
including Child Protection.
* To maintain confidentiality in relation to the Lifestart
Supporting Parents organisation at all times.
* To work collaboratively with staff as part of a team.
* Other duties may be assigned by the Assistant Manager/ Regional
Manager from time to time according to the needs of the organisation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION:

Qualification.

Essential: Minimum QQI level 5/6 Early Childhood Education.

Desirable: A relevant third level qualification in Early years
Education/ Social studies or a related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

* At least 2 years’ experience working in Early childhood education
& Family support.
* Experience working with minority communities.
* Knowledge of Ireland’s child & family policies and structures.
* Strong interest and background around child development /health/
wellbeing & family support.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of community development,
inclusion and trauma informed practice.
* Experience of working with families in their homes or
community-based settings.

SKILLS

* A team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to
engage with a range of people and organisations.
* Ability to work on own initiative, adhering to organisational
policies and procedures.
* Implementation of a strengths based and solution focused approach.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Good organisational skills as well as attention to detail.
* High level of computer literacy and competency in Word, Excel and
Power point.
* Experience of multidisciplinary meetings and the meitheal process.
* Experience in using social media platforms.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to
changing demands and demonstrate strong skills in prioritisation and
time management.
* Display a positive manner and integrity, confidentiality, and
commitment.
* Full drivers’ licence and use of a car.
* Facilitation skills desirable.
